Biography
Alisha is a dedicated mental health therapist at Marshall University, passionate about supporting students as they navigate the challenges of academic life, personal growth, and transition into adulthood. With specialized training in Social Work, and Psychology—Masters in Social Work, Alisha provides a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where students can explore their experiences and build resilience.
Alisha’s approach is collaborative and student-centered, drawing on evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques. She has experience working with concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity development, and adjustment to college life.
Committed to fostering wellness on campus, Alisha also offers workshops, outreach, and group counseling focused on mental health awareness, coping strategies, and academic balance. Her goal is to empower students with tools to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
When not in session, Alisha enjoys crafting and collecting cryptids, believing strongly in the importance of balance and self-care.
