Biography
Dr. Brenda Tuckwiller is Associate Professor in Adult and Continuing Education, directing the undergraduate and graduate levels of the statewide WV Career Technical Education Teacher Prep and Certification Program. The grant program has been housed at Marshall since 2019, when it was moved from WVU to MU. Tuckwiller received her doctorate in education from Marshall University. Drawing on years of experience in county school programming, state level program direction, higher ed teaching and program administration, Tuckwiller continues to design and teach blended and online graduate courses for in-service technical education teachers. Teaching and research interests include field visitation and advising for beginning teachers across West Virgina career and technical education centers, teaching methods, curriculum design, student assessment, program evaluation, data usage in program evaluation and improvement, and instructional technology. In addition, Dr. Tuckwiller serves on several doctoral committees, and as liaison with the WVDE Office of Student Engagement and Innovation. A West Virginia native, Tuckwiller is a lifelong advocate for youth development programming, supporting enrichment in education, and supporting the athletic and arts-related activities of her children and grandchildren. Her family has a rich history in WV agriculture and maintains several diverse farming operations in the beautiful Greenbrier Valley.
